This 23 year old singer–songwriter writes authentic, original songs about life, love and lies, combining honest lyrics with bluesy–rock-roots inspired music. Greg is a born storyteller and after spending the first half of 2008 travelling coast to coast across the United States, from California to Virginia, writing songs along the journey, he returned home to Alberta deciding to set his stories free, recording his debut singer-songwriter CD.
The EP “Set You Free”, released Fall 2008, charted on several college radio stations from St. John’s, Newfoundland to Kamloops, B.C. It has also been in light to heavy rotation on community radio, is on CBC Radio 3, and several commercial stations have also given “Broken Hearted Girl” and “Pass Me By” adds and made them available for listener requests. Greg’s songs have also been featured on such programs as Acoustic Planet, and the program “Northern Spotlight” featured “Broken Hearted Girl” alongside releases from Nickelback and Mobile! Skopemag picked Greg as an “Artist to Watch”. 2009 finds Greg ready to ROCK and he wants you along for the ride! He will be releasing his first Rock single to commercial radio early in 2009, with full album to follow later in the Spring.
Whether in Rock anthems that will have you singing along, pumping your fist in the air, or heartfelt songs that make you believe he knows about the love you just lost, Greg’s guitar takes over singing where his passionate and richly toned voice leaves off.
It was Greg’s electric guitar solos that first brought him to the stage. Loving the spotlight and applause, he has been performing ever since. He has captivated audiences as a soloist and with bands, in venues both intimate as cafes, as large as theatres and festivals, performing at a multitude of events including the following:
Hulbert’s Songwriter Showcase; Blue’s on Whyte Saturday Jam; “That’s Entertainment!” and “The Noon Show” in the Arts Centre at Red Deer College; “Axe City Guitar Challenge at The Skinny in Calgary; Lakeland Music Fest, an outdoor weekend festival; Talent Explosion during Edmonton Klondike Days Exhibition; Country Vocal Spotlight in the Edmonton Northlands Agricom Theatre; Country Opry at the Lyle Victor Albert Centre; lead guitar player for Rock bands: Apex Predator, Paradygm, and Infinity performing at numerous Battle of the Bands, Rock Jams, bars, and Edmonton Event Centre (formerly “Red’s).
